Case studies
Clear Living is a leader in the design, supply and installation of structural glass screens. Specialising in the residential market to provide commercial glazing techniques and systems to the modern home owner.
Heyes Lane , Cheshire
The Brief
Clear Living were asked to help create a modern design for a residential home using frameless glass screens. A minimal joint was requested with a structural glass to glass joint at the corner to maximise the view out over the Cheshire countryside. Additionally, clear living were asked to install aluminium windows and doors to the rear elevation together with powder coated aluminium cladding panels.
The Solution
Clear Living specified a frameless glass system which was supported at the head and at floor area only. This allowed for seamless joints down the vertical by letting the structural glass do the work of the vertical frame.
Clear Living also installed a revolutionary new door concept which is a patented design, allowing a frameless double glazed unit to be used as a door without any visible fixings anywhere. This design is the worlds only frameless glass door without mechanical fixings visible and ensure the entrie facade continues on a smooth clean line. 2 point locking door handles ensured extreme security in the application.
All the frameless glass utilised the High performance clear solar control glass ensuring extremely low U-Values whilst shielding the client from the suns rays.
All the aluminium was powder coated to specified RAL colour.
The Result
The frameless glass screen was critical in achieving the modern feel of the rear elevation on this traditional property. The smooth lines maximised the lights and helped to merge the internal living space with the outside landscape. Structural glass enable minimal sightlines.
The aluminium panelling and aluminium windows helped to create opening vents whilst ensuring the property kept its modern feel.
More pictures will be added of this project when all building works have completed.
