Frameless Structural Glass Balustrading For Safety and Elegance

When maximum transparency and a modern minimalist look is desired a glass balustrade is a natural solution.

The use of glass in this way maximises a rooms natural light by giving the illusion of a bigger space. Clear Living provides these structures using minimalist supports to support the glass panels and we also undertake additional bespoke work including timber and steel supports.

The simplicity and elegance of all our productsallows boundaries to be defined without interrupting the visual aesthetics of a build. spaces are enhanced by our subtle designs of pure glass and when used externally the eye is visually tricked with inside and outside merging as one.

Clear Living undertake most calculations in terms of loadings and stress and will assist in the design process. Single toughened or toughened laminated can be utilised depending on requirements. Monolithic glass is available in thicknesses of up to 25mm and can be greater when multiple plies are laminated together.

Our designs are capable of absorbing simple residential loadins of 740N/m2 right through to the most stringent project specific loadings.

Our frameless glass balustrading system is simple and provides stunning uninterrupted views both internally and externally. We do not require bulky frames or supporting posts as we use the glass in a structural capacity rather than just as a panel for visual purposes.

Laminated glass generally comprises toughened glasses with a CIP (Cast in Place), PVB (Polyvitralbutylate) or Dupont SGP (Sentry Glass Plus) interlayer.

Heat soaked toughened glass can also be utilised to minimise the risk of spontaneous breakage due to nickel sulphide (NiS) inclusions, which occur naturally in glass.
